Handmade Textile Gifts & Home Accessories from Norfolk
Welcome to The Tulip House, a Norfolk-based textile business creating unique handmade home accessories and gifts from repurposed and reclaimed textiles.
I combine a love of textiles, British wildlife and traditional textile techniques to create beautifully crafted pieces that are designed to be enjoyed, used and treasured. Each item is individually handmade using
raw edge appliqué and free-motion embroidery, giving my work its distinctive character and ensuring that no two pieces are ever quite the same.

Giving Unwanted Textiles a New Lease of Life
I have always had a passion for fabric – and, admittedly, a tendency to collect it! A few years ago, I began looking for ways to put my growing collection of textiles to good use. It seemed a shame that perfectly usable fabrics and textiles could so easily be discarded when they still had plenty of life left in them.
That idea became the foundation of The Tulip House.
Today, I carefully source fabrics from a variety of places, including fashion industry remnants, discontinued fabric stocks and unwanted textiles, transforming them into unique handmade gifts and useful home accessories.
For me, repurposing textiles is about more than sustainability. It is about seeing the potential in materials that might otherwise be overlooked and turning them into something beautiful, practical and individual.
Inspired by the British Countryside
Much of my work is inspired by the wildlife and landscapes of the British countryside. My handmade wildlife cushions feature appliquéd portraits of familiar British animals and birds, including hares, pheasants and Highland cattle.
Every cushion is individually designed and made, with carefully selected fabrics brought together using raw edge appliqué and free-motion embroidery. The result is a collection of one-off textile pieces that combine contemporary design with traditional sewing and embroidery techniques.
Alongside my wildlife-inspired cushions, I create a range of practical handmade textile gifts and home accessories, including bags, gloves, scarves, tea towels and other useful pieces.
Handmade in Norfolk
What began as a part-time hobby became a full-time business at the end of 2019. I continue to design and make every piece myself, from selecting and preparing the fabrics through to the appliqué, embroidery and finishing touches.
I believe handmade products should have a story behind them. Choosing a handmade item from a small British business means choosing something made with care, creativity and attention to detail rather than something mass-produced.
Whether you are looking for a unique handmade gift, a wildlife-inspired cushion, a textile home accessory or a practical present with a sustainable story, I hope you will find something special at The Tulip House.
